How to restore and repaint concrete window sill?

Hi, I am hoping to repaint/restore this concrete window sill. You can see it is currently painted a grey colour (last painted about 30 years ago) and I would like it to look more like a natural concrete where possible. Would a product like Crommelin Liquid Stone work or is it better to just find a paint colour (Dulux preferably) that is similar to concrete and do that? I was hoping to avoid it looking really painted / brush strokes. Thanks in advance!

Crommelin Liquid Stone would definitely be a good option if you're aiming for a more natural concrete look rather than a painted finish. Unlike standard exterior paint, which tends to produce a flat, opaque surface that often highlights brush marks or sheen inconsistencies, Liquid Stone is designed to mimic the appearance and texture of real cement. If you were to go with a standard paint such as a Dulux exterior acrylic in a concrete grey tone, it would freshen up the sill but ultimately still look like a painted surface, likely not much different from your current finish.

To get the best result with the Liquid Stone, I’d recommend applying it with a short-nap roller rather than a brush, as that will help avoid obvious brush marks and leave a more even, natural-looking surface. You might also consider applying two coats, allowing the first to dry completely, and doing a light sand or wipe-down between coats if needed. The end result should give your sill a finish that looks much more like bare or newly poured concrete while also sealing and protecting it from the elements
