Ozito electric line trimmer problems

I was happy to try Ozito as I purchased a telescopic hedge trimmer that is very good.

I have not had such a good experience with the electric line trimmer.

1. The line feeder mechanism just doesn't work. It is possible to manually feed however that is very time consuming and has to be done very often.

2. Sometimes no lines are present despite finding plenty of lead on the lead cassette.

3. Sometimes one lead is present and the other is not feeding at all because it is fused (welded") to itself in the cartridge.

3. Often, I check why no lead is feeding and find the lead is fused ("welded") to itself in the cartridge.

Overall it is a very frustrating garden tool that does not live up to what is said about it - e.g., line feeding mechanism does not work, the line is fused to itself in the cartridge, the lines sometimes tangle.Line taggleLine taggleno feed from cartridgeno feed from cartridgeno feed from cartridgeno feed from cartridgeno feed from cartridgeno feed from cartridge2 lead fused so cannot feed.2 lead fused so cannot feed.

Re: Ozito electric line trimmer problems

100% agree.. the line feeder breaks down all the time. It sometimes breaks right after fixing.. So I take the spool out.. fish out the line, re-thread it and then tilt down the device and start trimming.. and 4 seconds latter do it all over.  I ended up getting another trimmer that just works. This one sits in the shed.

What really sucks, I have about 3 un-opened spools.

Re: Ozito electric line trimmer problems

This did nothing really.  The spools have all their line pre-spooled, and it seems tight, but the mechanics just doesn't work.. the line stops/breaks frequently and falls into the mechanism. You have to tip it over and fiddle with it, often a few minutes at a go.

I ended up purchasing a bag of zip ties, and ditching the spool.  I feed the ties through the same holes.. At least when they do break (less often), replacing them is heaps quicker. The feed in holes are not big enough to let the end big part of the zip tie through, so I don't have to fasten them..

Re: Ozito electric line trimmer problems

Hello @dave555

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us.

Thank you for sharing your experience in regards to the Ozito line trimmer. If you've had a chance to read our earlier responses, we do recommend bringing your line trimmer to the store where you purchased it and speaking to the power gardening specialist so that they can assess your line trimmer. If it is still under warranty and you still have proof of purchase, the unit can be replaced. At the very least the power gardening specialist can find out why the spool is malfunctioning.
