What is stud finder can I purchase from Bunnings that will identify both Steel and timber frame studs.

There are plenty of stud finders to choose from. If you are looking for a basic device that can detect both timber and steel studs, then I can recommend the Stanley S100 Stud Sensor as a no-frills option that will get the job done.
