The Block 2025 premieres this Sunday, and includes some major changes to the competition.
The 10 contestants build houses from scratch that are exactly the same in layout and size. They begin with only the frame completed.
Individual design will determine who wins each room, ensuring contestants will need to “produce something spectacular from week one” according to host Scott Cam.
Each of the five houses offers a generous 346 square metres of living space set on over 2,300 square metres of land.
The homes are located in picturesque Victorian spa town Daylesford.
Bunnings has teamed with The Block 2025 as official D.I.Y. partner. Contestants are able to access an on-site Bunnings mini-store and nursery to grab supplies and advice during their renovation work.
Do we have dedicated Blockheads in the Bunnings Workshop community? What do you most like about the show?
Living and Dining room reveals on the show last night.

Not a fan of the show - the drama is a turn off, the earlier days of just getting in and doing the reno's with smaller more realistic homes that everyone could relate to was a better format.
In saying that - I do watch Sunday nights episode on replay (F/Fwd through the drama) to see what has been done. No clear winner at this stage, each week completely different styles appear - that don't appear to align with other rooms in the houses.
Interested in why the judges have determined "Daylesford" has a particular "theme/style" they should be matching. @DIY4Knuckleheds as a local - what is the take on that?
Will be interesting to see what the completed homes look like and whether the disjointed styles come together in the end.
The rumpus rooms have been revealed and Han and Can had another win with their home theatre-style space. The room has three recessed arches, with the centre containing a television and entertainment unit, and the flanked arches featuring floating shelves. Acoustic wood panelling on the ceiling was complemented by velvet wall panelling, combining to create a noise-proof haven.

G'day Caron, unfortunately l'm not a local of Daylesford.....l wish l was as it is beautiful and we do visit the area occasionally having friends there but l'm actually up on the Mid North Coast of NSW 👍 Apart from that, l am a fan of the show and have been from the beginning. Being in the building trade just makes things a little more interesting seeing how things are done.
Like you, l'm keen to see the finished product 👍👍
Every one of the five houses nailed kitchen week and we had incredibly high scores across the board. And a tie for first place...
Robby and Mat embraced the Daylesford surrounds and used tlight Baltic-style timber cabinets, stone benchtops and open shelving to create a kitchen with a warm, yet classical aesthetic. It also featured a clever Murphy door into the bedroom.
Britt and Taz shared first place by fully capitalising on the expensive kitchen appliances they won earlier this season and adding an incredibly large 4.6m island bench. The wood panelled ceiling also drew admiration.

Week 8 proved very challenging for all The Block contestants, and only two managed to finish both their guest bedrooms and guest bathrooms.
Emma and Ben took out the honours thanks to a moody bedroom using soft greens and a large kitchenette. Installing a false wall to hide the walk-in robe was very clever. Their bathroom was similar to their ensuite, featuring a curved tiled wall.

Week 9 asked a lot of the contestants. The blockheads tackled five rooms - garage, laundry, butler's kitchen, powder room and mudroom.
Britt and Taz won the cash largely thanks to all the amazing storage in their butler's kitchen. They created a large galley-style pantry and separate laundry in their back-of-house design. In the pantry, the choice of shallow shelves on one side and generous bench space on the other created a spacious walk-through area, while still allowing functionality.
You can see the winning rooms and all the other contestant's back of house efforts on the Bunnings website.
This week the teams head outdoors and work on their alfresco areas.

It was alfresco and shed week, but Robby and Mat stole the show with their incredible underground wine cellar. It was created with a formwork system made of prefabricated panels filled with concrete for a cost-effective solution.
Meanwhile, the deck featured a large dining setting and lounge space, while the shed had a workshop at one end (with a custom-built work bench from left-over timber) and a home gym at the other end.

Backyard week is won and done, with a very close result. Emma and Ben took out first place thanks to a secret gnome, amphitheatre-style tiered decking, and a wine cellar.
The backyard's concept from the couple’s landscape designer Colin Hyett was to incorporate the adjoining rolling hills of Daylesford into the design, as “borrowed landscape”. This involved lots of trees – and using 80 per cent natives in the plant selection.

Now it's time for the finishing touches to the front gardens and house facades before the house auctions.

In the final week of judging, Sonny and Alicia finally had a win. Their classic Aussie front yard and house facade impressed the judges with its classic lawn, established Chinese elms and maple trees, extra parking space and kangaroo sculpture.
You can check out all the fabulous front gardens on the Bunnings website.
Next weekend is the big auctions. Who do you think is going to win?
