What adhesive for cornice installation?

Hello everyone, I'm currently in the process of planning out how to install new ceiling and cornice plasterboards but have been struggling to trying to find information for the correct adhesive for cornice installations. I have found Gyprock Cornice Cement which I believe is commonly used for adhering cornices to scenarios where plasterboard is used for both walls and ceilings but because I live in Perth, Western Australia only my ceiling is plasterboard and my walls are double brick would I still be using Gyprock Cornice Cement or is there another adhesive that would be more correct for my scenario. Thank you

Re: Correct Adhesive for Cornice

Hi @Cortex,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

Your best option for installing cornice between double brick walls and a plasterboard ceiling is this Gyprock CSR Drywall Masonry Adhesive. It can be used on both plasterboard and masonry surfaces and has been designed for this exact application.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: Correct Adhesive for Cornice

I used CSR cornice cement for my custom plaster cornices on masonry walls. The local cornice maker recommended it. Worked really well, and the cornices were much heavier than standard ones.

For some reason it says on the packet to use on gyprock walls only ... this almost put me off using it but lucky i asked the pro.
