What is the ratio of Lime Cement & Sand for laying bricks?..is there an allready pre-mixed bag product?...I'm only filling in a small area above a doorway, approx 12 bricks....

Re: Brick Laying

Hello @PAULMONGELLI

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's magnificent to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about bricklaying.

I suggest using Bastion 20kg Premix Mortar, it can be used for bricks, stones, retaining walls, barbeques, block paving and garden beds. There's no need to add any other ingredient to it except water and it's ready to go. Generally speaking, the traditional mix of mortar is one part cement, five parts sand and some lime.

It sounds like an interesting project. Would it be possible for you to post a photo of the area you're trying to fill? I'm sure our members would be keen to see how the bricks are laid out in your project.

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How to build a brick wall.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
