I’m thinking of ripping up 30 year old carpet in a room that has untreated radiata pine underneath (at least that’s what I was told it is).
I read the instructions for the Senso vinyl plank adhesives and it says I need an underlay.
What would be best for this type of flooring, and how would I attach it after removing the carpet?
Hi @yogurtfrog,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
The installation guide for the Senso Self Adhesive Vinyl Planks recommends using Masonite Underlay over timber floorboards. This will ensure a nice, smooth surface underfoot.
Masonite underlay can be attached to your floorboards using the guidance my colleague @MitchellMc has given in this discussion - How to lay masonite underlay?
You can use either flooring staples or ring shank nails.
Let me know what you think, and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
