How to repaint textured blueboard?

I built a granny flat in 2008 and that was when it was painted by the builder on external walls. He installed blue board all around the granny flat and painted it using a special roller which produced a bit of texture. Pl servphotos. I need to repaint this but I cannot establish whether I can paint over this or do I have to strip it. Currently it is flaking off like a layer but to be honest I’m not

interested in stripping. I need some guidance from professionals in this forum as to have best I can repaint the surface.

In this particular instance, I suggest using a 100mm Sharp Edge Paint Scraper to scrape off all the lifting paint. My best advice is to allow the scraper to skim the surface of the wall, but do not force it deep into the material. I suggest using 180grit sandpaper for stubborn spots or sections that will not come off. I suggest removing all of the old paint so that you can be sure that the new coat of paint is in direct contact with the wall. Allow the wall to breathe and dry off for a day or two before painting it. I suggest using Dulux Weathershield tinted to your choice of colour.

Grateful for your response. So after scraping where I easily can, can should I just over paint? What is the type of paint at the moment?

Hello @khwajas

After removing all the paint allow the wall to breathe a little before painting over it. Make sure that the wall is totally dry and no rain will be coming in the next few days. Make sure that the wall is totally clean and free of dust and debris. You probably have some sort of external paint, but I don't know what brand it is. The paint I suggested Dulux Weathershield is ideal for outdoor use.
