should i use liquid nails glue when i fix VJ cladding to the wall?

I’ve installed this cladding before but I don’t know if I’m over doing it with a heap of liquid nails.

im fixing the sheet to the wall with my paslode Brad nailer.

@ProjectPete I think your the man to answer this question for me to make my day easier lol.

also I think I over do it with nails as well

What type of wall are you fixing it to @LePallet ?

It's definitely a combo of liquid nails and Brad or Pin nails. The nails are really just used to hold in place while the liquid nails cures. Don't underdo the liquid nails.

Expect to use 1x 300g/ml liquid nails per sheet. Then you know it's not going anywhere 😉

Thanks mate, it’s getting fixed to a normal plaster wall with timber studs. 2420 sheets. 6 sheets in total.

I also forget to ask if I should paint it first then install the sheets?
or paint all once installed?

My sister seems to think painting it first, then putty the holes and lightly paint over

@LePallet At a minimum you want to paint the top and bottom of all sheets about 400mm and the left of the left sheet and right of the right sheet about 400mm to avoid having to be careful painting against floor, ceiling and adjoining walls. Do 3 coats.

Painting the whole lot first is also handy, just not actually always easier painting them laying done depending on your setup and how much room you have to layout 6 sheets - could be far less efficient.
