A glass pool fence panel exactly the same size as a European pallet is perfect for a simple coffee table.

The project
We have an alfresco area and needed a coffee table, especially as we had visitors coming over.
My wife had salvaged two European pallets from roofing tile repairs at her work. Why European ones? Because they're 800mm x 1200mm, the perfect size for a glass pool fence panel (the pallets are also available from Bunnings on occasion).

Materials
Here are the materials used:
- 800mm x 1200mm glass pool fence panel: $80
- 4 x 100mm castors plus fixing screws: $51
- 6 x 150mm 14G batten screws: $15 (smaller pack may be available)
- Clear button surface protectors : $2
- 2 pallets: Free
Total cost: $148.
Assembly: One to two hours.
