Light terrazzo tiles and white paint give this outdoor area a bright, holiday feel while upcycled furniture helped keep costs down.

The project
I wanted to share the outdoor renovation project my husband and I completed recently. We mostly used products from Bunnings, of course. Our aim was to achieve a Mediterranean aesthetic and brighten the space with lots of white and texture.

The area was all right before but it lacked the brightness and relaxing holiday feel that we wanted.
It now looks so much lighter and more airy. It actually feels more inviting. We now spend more time outdoors than ever.

We spray-painted the Jumbuck barbecue white and we reused the pendant lights and spray-painted those too.
The poly-cane outdoor lounge was a Facebook Marketplace find. We painted it in Dulux Weathershield Low Sheen Vivid White and added the timber frames to warm them up a little. The dining table, a Marketplace rescue, was left as is.
To add a bit of warmth to an all-white palette I added blonde woods and textures and painted some of our pots terracotta. The fence screens, also from Bunnings, were spray-painted white.
The TV is usually covered with D.I.Y. sleeve I made for it to cover it from the elements and also to protect it when using the barbecue. Unfortunately that was the only spot we could put it in to work with the layout.
It sure does feel like a holiday everyday in our backyard.
