A large ottoman tray created with a Specrite timber panel.

The project
We moved into our house last year and I wanted to be able to upcycle my existing feature while staying true to my pocket. One thing I have noticed on many Pinterest items are people using ottoman trays and accessorising them to give an extremely classy look to their living room. I went online to search for one to buy and the size I was looking at would have easily cost me hundreds of dollars. Hence we came up with our D.I.Y. idea. What can a trip to Bunnings not solve? We got our raw material from Bunnings:
Making it was straightforward from this point onwards. Using our Ryobi hammer drill we quickly got the handles attached and we were ready to go.
A quick tip: Stick a piece of masking tape at the place where you plan to drill the holes. This helps with keeping the material around the hole in the timber panel clean.
