Hi Bunnings team,
I'm looking to remove the carpet in the living room then sand and seal the wooden floor underneath.
I've looked at Bunnings video of sanding/sealing timber floor so it's all good but just want to ask about
1. https://www.bunnings.com.au/kincrome-automatic-centre-punch_p6119128 Is this centre punch designed for nail punch? or do I have to buy a different kit.
2. Sanding grit. According to bunnings video the gentleman says 40-60 grit but I'm looking at this sealer product https://www.bunnings.com.au/cabot-s-1l-gloss-water-based-cfp-floor_p1520273 which says 180-240 grit. Which grit should I go for. From experience with other room, the carpet is not glue to the floor so the boards should be in their original finish.
3. Joint filler - I assume I need to do joint filler if there're significant gaps between the boards? If so, what would the product to buy. I see some guys using sawdust + epoxy but i don't have access to sawdust.
4. recommendation for clear sealer please? https://www.bunnings.com.au/cabot-s-1l-gloss-water-based-cfp-floor_p1520273 is this good?
5. Can I use a paint roller instead of the lambswool applicator for the floor sealer?
I'm not keen on buying something to use only once. With the paint roller I will be able to reuse in wall painting etc.
Sorry no photo as I haven't ripped up the carpet yet
Thank you very much
