How do I cover old spa bath jets?

Old spa bath jet covers

Hi there, can anyone help with a solution to cover up these old spa bath jets - the tops have been removed (difficult to clean, would get mouldy) and ideally we’d love to cover them up with something relatively flat that was easier to clean.

We have found a pipe part thing that screws in and fits (pictured) but it obviously sticks out a bit. We have tried cutting it but can’y get a smooth cut. The pipe cutters available at bunnings only seem to be for smaller pipe.

Any ideas on how we can cover these up?

Never seen this sort of quandary before. Advice already given seems solid.

Just thinking outside of the square - have you got access on all sides of the bath/spa? If so - you might want to try one of these Basin Cover Plates. Need to put some waterproof bathroom silicon on when installing. Kinetic White Basin Cover Plate - Bunnings Australia.

I do like your way of thinking and probarly would continue down the path of reducing the height of the "plug" you have found. I have used a thin cutting disk on a grinder to get fine cuts and then sand down the rough edges. I really like @Noyade 's idea of the cap over the top of them. As @JacobZ pointed out you may still want to get in behind the plug so Id leave something to grab on to maybe.

We have a very old spa bath where the 'suction' cage deteriorated and fell away. I just mallet-ed a PVC cover (Holman - comes in various sizes?) into it - from Bunnings. Of course we no longer use it as a spa.

What diameter is the threaded section in your photo? I was thinking of hack-sawing or band-sawing the correct length and then capping.

Maybe PVC glue to keep the cap on.

Then screw into place.

Just a Sunday thought.
