Modella shower arm experience
I wanted a square shower head and eventually went with the Estilo. Then started looking for connecting arms. Initially I chose the straight arm and I could have lived with the height, but the connection relies on the shower outlet to be securely anchored behind the wall. Turns out mine isn't. There was significant…

Citeco earmuffs and Lufkin measuring tape recommendations
Both from Bunnings. CITECO earmuffs - just superb for less than $20. I have now started tossing out my 'el-cheapo' earmuffs. And Lufkin Black measuring tapes. My eyes love the black and white - just seems to me better than yellow and I'm so glad they dispensed with the imperial side - so the metric increments match on both…

Does the AEG bench grinder come with a magnifying lens?
I promise to stop asking these questions. Last time. I purchased this bench grinder recently and it was a spur of the moment decision. I took it home and had a look at the Bunnings online page. It mentions a magnifying lens… But no lens in my kit or mentioned in the manual. I can see the year 2020 in print. I'm not fussed…

Full Boar pedestal drill on clearance
I'm not sure if every Bunnings store is the same - but mine now has on clearance the Full Boar pedestal drill. Current price is $224 - this is around $70 less than the smaller Ryobi bench-top drill press in store. I think this is a remarkable buy - and considering a 750 watt motor. Just a heads-up. Cheers!

How to fix Ozito PXBVAGS Grinder rocking?
Recently purchased. I love it. But I noticed there is a slight rocking (<0.5 mm) 'up and down' movement in the bearing/blade edge. Normal? Part of the design? Maybe required with battery/brushless variety grinders? I only ask as some of my really cheap 240V variety have no movement at all in the bearing. Cheers!

Goliath grab handle for a doorway?
At Bunnings this morning. I have used these handles on large steel doors. But was wondering if they would suffice as a vertical hand hold for someone stepping up through a doorway? Or should I be looking in the bathroom section - Aisle 64? Cheers.

How to add magnets to hold a screen door with self-closer?
We had an OT (Occupational Therapist) assess our house and address issues where my wife, Julie, is struggling. One area which we examined was screen doors with pneumatic closers - they tend to 'catch' her when she is entering/exiting. The OT proposed magnetic devices (Maybe These? ) from the ceiling. On the ground they…

Glue gun holder
My wife uses a glue gun for craft. But recently burnt herself. So she asked me for a glue gun holder. I Googled - dozens of designs... Glue Gun Holders I went with two pieces of wood. Glued (wood glue). Drop saw cut. The gun weight and cable - lever the wire stand against the wood for a firm hold. So no further burns -…

How to fix loose table legs?
Old table I have outside. Probably from the early 1970's. Extendable ends. There appears to be mortise and tenon joints involved? Thoughts on how to strengthen them? Cheers! This shows the tenon spreading...

What legs for a dog bed?
The kit arrived today. No legs in the package. Not sure why they are called 'Woke Legs.' From the site - should be around 100 mm. The bolts are supplied - M10 flat heads. Are there legs at Bunnings which would suit? Cheers. 😁

How to order a 125mm wire wheel?
I had a quick look at the Bunnings website, with no luck. But I'm looking for a 125 mm wire wheel - bore seems to be 1/2 ". Cheers!

Craftright shelving simple to assemble
Just a thumbs up to Bunnings and Craftright for what I think is a great little product for my purpose. I always thought these shelving styles required a bucket of nuts and bolts to assemble - not any more it seems. A rubber mallet and a piece of wood off-cut is all that's required. So simple to assemble and reconfigure the…

Making a Stanley Planer handle
It never had a handle when I inherited it. Stanley Bailey No. 4 1/2. So I'm having a go making one outta wood. Now, have a look at this photo... Note the threaded rods. I'm convinced the threaded ends started with a larger diameter? Or is it my eyes? I tried adding extra thread to mine - but the die (1/4NC20) - just…

Modifying a Jumbuck trolley
I have a Jumbuck trolley and BBQ. https://www.bunnings.com.au/jumbuck-portable-gas-bbq-foldable-trolley_p0175300 One reviewer says it's easy to move around... With a bad back and problematic shoulders I've found it difficult to move around with the cylinder and BBQ installed. To me the problem is you can't lift by the…

Does the Ozito 1500W 5J Rotary Hammer Drill chisel randomly rotate?
I'm interested in buying this rotary hammer drill. https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1500w-5j-rotary-hammer-drill-kit-rhd-1550_p0382377. One question though. Does the chisel still randomly rotate as you chisel? A couple of the reviewers say yes. But this was two years ago. Cheers.

When can I use my new Jumbuck 6-Burner BBQ?
I purchased the Jumbuck 6-Burner Hotplate BBQ the other day which was heavily discounted due to a damaged box. https://www.bunnings.com.au/jumbuck-club-6-burner-hotplate-bqq-lcc27_p0348682 You get 42 five-star reviews and 28 one-star reviews. I think a lotta one-star reviewers are under the impression the 'black' surface…

Ladder leveller - ABC Inventor's Winner - 1978.
I purchased this from the Salvos Store yesterday. Wonderful flashback - I remember the ABC TV show. 😁 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Inventors_(Australian_TV_program) Don't remember this product though. Original packaging. Everything there - no missing parts. Just one issue with the "Ladder Leveller" - it's only…

What is the profile of replacement axe handles?
G'day Viewers. Without having to go to Bunnings, is there a way of finding out the end profile (and dimensions) of the two replacement wood axe handles available in store? https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?page=1&q=axe+handle&sort=BoostOrder This is what I'm after... Cheers!

Adding a stable base for a chopping block
I have a chopping block (pine I think) for cutting chips/kindling and splitting wood. It's 650 mm high and 250 mm in diameter. Perfect height for me. But when you split wood - it tends to topple over, so you keep lifting it back with each axe strike. I want to make a low profile base out of an old plough disc - to hold it…

Ford Falcon door hold repair
Old Car. Old man. The lower mounting on the right hand side back passenger handle - shattered. Disassembled it. The fiberglass repair(?) is not mine. Previous owner? Or how they made them back then? Dunno. I do now know the plastic quality back then (2005) was awful... The top mounting was intact... Again more fibreglass.

How to replace floating floor boards?
I'm too ashamed to explain how the water ingress remained undetected for so long - but you see the damage. I was thinking of experimental surgery by removing the affected section with a multi-function tool and replacing new boards with glue to the concrete. If the boards consent - what tool blade? How to cut an acceptable…

What's happening in the Tool Shop?
Every tool (not battery powered) on display was half price. As is. Not many left when I was there yesterday. I missed a few which I would have liked - always too late in life. One staff member said there will be a "new display shortly" New brands maybe? Any info to share? 😁 Cheers.

How to raise TV height with flatpack stand?
Hi. I'm looking for ideas to extend the height of the TV with the dimensions below. This is cramped University accommodation. The main criteria is it must be able to be transported on a bus in flatpak mode and then reassembled on arrival. Hoping that makes sense. Cheers!

D.I.Y. bike light support
I bought a cheap bicycle light for my cheap bicycle. It's basically held on by a rubber band method. No matter which rung you stretched it to - it wobbled when riding. Before I could find a solution it was stolen. Easy to steal. So I bought another one. Today I tried an adjustable pipe bracket. Aesthetically it is not very…
