I'm interested in buying this rotary hammer drill.

One question though. Does the chisel still randomly rotate as you chisel?
A couple of the reviewers say yes.
But this was two years ago.
Cheers.
Hi @Noyade,
You can also chat directly with the Ozito guys.
Over the years they have been fantastic and always responded to my requests and sourced hard to find tools
Here is one from 2017 when I was chasing the big 12" saw.
Cheers
Hi @AlanM52 !
Where abouts is that 'chat' component on their site?
I can't see it?
I can see where you can leave an email query. Maybe that's the way to go.

Done.
Hi @Noyade
Ozito on Facebook

and leave a message.
Ahhh...sorry, @AlanM52 - I have no friends, therefore, no Facebook.
I thought it was like the instant chat you see on the Bunnings website.
😁
If the stop rotation is correctly engaged it shouldn’t rotate when chiselling. Some models of these tools do offer an additional mode allowing rotation which can be handy when operating in tight locations
In The case of the Ozito model it doesn’t have these feature so the chisel should be fixed. If not there is a fault

Hi @Nailbag
Thanks for providing that extra bit of information in regards to the Ozito Rotary Hammer Drill. I'm sure it will help @Noyade in his decision.
Eric
Thanks.
No response from Ozito.
Bunnings sent me the message seen below.
I will ask in the tool shop if we can open one up and look closer.
These drills have three functions, drill, hammer drill and chisel. If the drill is set to chisel and it is rotating, like @Nailbag has said, it sounds like a fault with the individual tool, which would entitle you to a replacement under the terms of their warranty.
Knowing that you love a good trip to Bunnings, heading in store and having a play with one is probably the best way to go. Then you can make a decision based on your own experience.

I actually find the wording of my query very hard.
What happens in chisel mode is the tip rotates in any angle it wants - you cannot lock it. It can move around 360 degrees as you chisel.
But you said it best @Nailbag.
"In the case of the Ozito model it doesn’t have this feature so the chisel should be fixed."
I went to Bunnings - tried to explain the query, to no avail - but in the end the staff member was more than happy to open the box so I could explain.
As a result we both agreed.
The chisel in hammer function is not fixed.
It is not a fault, just simply the design Ozito went with.
And the reviewer above is absolutely correct, the older version has the rotation lock - because I have it (circa 2009?).
What I wanted was the variable speed in this model.
Another reviewer...
No sale.
😔
I understand what you're saying. It wouldn't really be an issue with a pointed chisel, but with flat chisels, it certainly would be.
It does seem like they have removed the rotation lock for a reason I am not sure of.
I will reach out to them for their comment.
Unfortunately some powertool product managers don't have an understanding of what features, specs etc are important to end-users and as such your situation occurs. The other reason is for cost cutting to meet a specific retail price-point. I bought a 2nd twin battery charger as backup because it charges both batteries at the same time. The new model to keep the same price point only does one at a time so, twice as long.Nailbag
