Cantilevered 2 level deck for sauna

I needed a steady and level base for my kit sauna that allowed drainage and could hold 650kg

Steps

Step 1

I needed a base for a kit sauna

My backyard has a considerable slope

I decided to build a 2 level deck to manage the slope

The dimensions mirrored what I needed as the base for the sauna

The frame was assembled upside down in the garage and the stirrups were attached 

Holes were dug insitu and the frame was lifted in (very heavy-needed extra hands)

The frame was levelled and concrete was mixed and placed into holes

After curing, I finished the deck with joist tape and the 90mm preoiled merbau decking

Thank you for sharing your sauna deck project, it looks fantastic.

I like how you constructed it all in one piece before levelling and concreting it into place. This is a great way of getting everything perfectly square and in line on a nice flat surface.

The Merbau looks fantastic and complements the sauna beautifully.

Using the car jack to keep everything level while the concrete set was also a brilliant idea, making it very easy to tweak your levels to get everything perfect.

Congratulations on a fantastic project that will be wonderful to use on a cold day in winter or after a workout.
