A courtyard outdoor entertaining area was created by building a timber deck using a Pine frame and Merbau decking panels.
The project
We recently bought our first home together after getting married. It had this empty courtyard, which was dirt and stones, and was very uninviting and lacked inspiration. So it was on my first DIY to do list.
Bunnings helped me out completely; gave me a diagram and timber dimensions, and fixings recommendations. Was a tremendous help and I think it's come up great. We now have furniture and enjoy the warmer days out there.
Steps
Step 1
Clear courtyard and dig post holes and cement posts.
Step 2
Install bearers and joists, and fix to posts and wall.
Step 3
Install top boards and steps.
Step 4
Oil the deck.
Step 5
Finished product.
