What Sheoak shelf supports?

I want to hang these as floating shelves with concealed brackets. Any suggestions for best ones to use. Those on the Bunnings site seem to be poorly reviewed. Shelf weighs about 12kg and measures 1500 x 300 x 30 approximately. Going into a brick external wall. Thanks

The Carina Hidden Shelf Brackets are rated to hold up to 10kg per pair, including the weight of the shelf itself. With your Sheoak shelf coming in at around 12kg before you even add anything on top, you’d be pushing (or exceeding) the safe working load. These types of concealed brackets are really only designed for lightweight shelving.

For a shelf of that size and weight, you’d likely need to look at a more custom solution. One option would be using galvanised pipe with wall-mount brackets fixed directly into studs. To do this, you’d need to open up the plasterboard, securely mount the brackets onto the studwork, then patch over. You could then cut corresponding holes in the back of your shelf and slide it onto the pipe supports, giving you a much more durable concealed mounting system. I'd suggest atlest three mounts per shelf.

It’s a bit more involved than the off-the-shelf concealed brackets, but it will give you the strength and safety you need for a solid timber shelf of that size.

Thanks Mitchell. Updated my question a bit. It’s into a brick wall and it was reviews not ratings that put me off the Cariya.

Understood, that's perfectly fine. So we're not going to use the Carina brackets, but need to mount onto a brick wall. As there are no other hidden mounting brackets, you'll need to use a custom mounting system. Your shelves are quite heavy even on their own, so it needs to be something that can hold significant weight. I'm still thinking along the lines of using the gal tube. You could drill out the brick and use adhesive to bed the tubes into it.

Im think of Gal Tube as well, and maybe even three of them. I did consider reo but the 12kgs plus extras over time..... yeah Nah

Metal Mate 19 x 1.2 3m Galvanised Steel Round Tube is what I am thinking of.

The Way I would fix them is with the Chemset that @MitchellMc has mentioned as well.

I'd try a welding solution and make my own brackets. This is 5 mm steel plate with a 16mm hole for pipe/rod.

Once in position, square up the 90 degrees and weld the back.

Admittedly the top of the bracket will be seen, but I personally would not like the idea of 16-19 mm holes in my brickwork for a lot of reasons.

Just another thought.
