How to attach misaligned tap timer?

I recently bought this tap timer, but once trying to install it I've realised that the way the irrigation pipe is positioned makes it very difficult to line up something rigid like a tap timer - is there a bendy tap attachment that I could use which would enable me to connect the two or something else that would work? I've tried swivelling the current tap attachment around to different angles and it made no difference - they just won't line up.

Thank you for your question about attaching your tap timer to your garden tap.

It seems like you could make the angle if you just cut the poly pipe back a little bit and rerouted it. 

If you trimmed it back a little bit, and routed it how I've shown below, do you think that might work?

There is this Bluhen 2 Way Outlet Push Button Tap Adaptor that can be adjusted to suit different angles, but with the length of the poly pipe, I think you'd still struggle to make the angle.

I'd say cutting the poly pipe back will be needed in some way.

If you cut the poly pipe right back, we could always find a way to attach a short length of garden hose from the tap to the timer using a few different adaptors.
