How to fix new taps against tiles?

a plumber came today to fit my new taps and I’m a little bit worried because the round things come off the tiles, they don’t seem to be fixed properly to the tiles. I called him and he just said something about he couldn’t help it because the Breach was too far out or something like that. I’m not sure what that means or what I can do about it, but I’m really worried that water is going to seep into the back of the wall through these gaps. Also the spout thing is not sitting flush with the tiles either!

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Your taps look great! I love the satin gold finish! To fix the covers in place I propose putting a bead of silicone on the inside section of the cover flange. Push the flange to the tiled wall and put some masking tape over it to keep it from moving. Do the same thing for the other flanges making sure not to over fill the flanges. Your goal is to put just enough so that it sticks to the wall. Put masking tape on all of them to make sure they don't move out of place. Once the silicone cures you can take the masking tape off and give the wall a good wipe down.

I propose looking at using Selleys 300g Clear Wet Area Waterproof Silicone Sealant to stick the flanges in place.

I'm just just an amateur @maro - but to me, the taps are too far in the wall?

Even if the flanges were against the tiles -there's no room for arthritic fingers to grab the handle?

Do they need extensions on the spindles?

How do you remove those tap handles?

I’m looking into buying extension because besides the flanges being loose, the taps defo look weird. I’m going to try get another plumber come and sort out! Thank you!
