I’m after suggestions to what I can put on the colorbond fence above my retaining wall . It’s approximately 1.8 tall x 2.7 wide . Was thinking some screening panels but tossing up between black and a rusty colour to go with the deck
Hi @peggysue,
I love the idea of some lightweight screening panels for that space. Both black and rust tones can work really well, it just depends on the look you’re going for. Black will feel more modern and tie in nicely with the darker accents around the deck and retaining wall, while a rust or corten style finish adds warmth and a bit of texture that can complement timber really nicely.
If you’re open to something more natural, a living screen could look amazing there too. Star jasmine is a great option as it climbs well, has nice dense foliage, and gives you those fragrant white flowers in season. You could run it along a simple wire or trellis fixed to the fence to soften the whole area and blend it into the garden.

Another option to consider is artificial hedging panels. They are super low maintenance, give you instant greenery, and can be cut to size to fit that exact space. They work really well if you want a clean, lush look without the upkeep of watering and pruning.

Good Evening @peggysue
Mmmm I like your thinking, and to add another option into the mix how about making up a template of the white jasmine flowers that @JacobZ has mentioned. And by template I mean some swirly curves with leaves and the flowers themselves. Then using white spray paint (in a can) spray sections of your fence. You could grow from the ground up by using the template and linking up with the previous section. You woudl end up with the nice green giving a pop to the white. And if you were super keen you could touch up with a little pink in the middle of the flowers :) Once your template is cut out then it should be easy. I would practice with it on some vertical carboard until you are confidant tho.
Dave
Thanks
Some great ideas I’ll look into.
