Does anyone know how i can fix this. The vent came off and i dont know what happened to the clip
Hello @peezy1
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your ceiling vent.
It appears that the locking clip mechanism has snapped off based on the picture you've shared. To anchor this corner of the vent back on the ceiling, I propose drilling a vertical pilot hole in front of the clip location. This pilot hole will technically mark the ceiling as well. I then suggest placing a small piece of timber about 50mmx50mm over the pilot hole inside the ceiling and gluing it with liquid nails.
I then suggest using your drill to drill through the ceiling board (pilot hole mark) and through the timber piece you glued in place. Put the ceiling vent back into place and use a average length screw to go through the vent cover and then to the ceiling board, then through the timber piece. This will allow you to properly anchor the vent and still give you the option of removing it when you want to clean it. You can paint the tip of the screw white so that it blends in with the vent.
Another option is to measure the size of the ceiling vent and finding a compatible vent cover at the store.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1, @Noyade and @Remarka6le for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Howdy @peezy1
I had an almost similar thing happen to my bathroom exhaust vent.
Do you still have the other side clip? If so can you take a photo of it?
You could also screw a piece of timber to the top of that section in the photo so it overhangs the hole once secured, then pivot the vent into place and use the other clip to secure it. To screw the thin piece of timber trim in I would use a short self tapping screw making sure there is nothing under the screw itself.
