How do I remove the inner retaining band of my washing machine?

II am trying to replace the seal of my washing machine. I can't undo the inner retaining band. Have tried everything! I am tempted to cut the band and just buy a replacement. I know to undo this particular part you go clockwise. Help would be appreciated. Also awkward position to get at.

It looks like an allen key screw The T handle that @EricL has mentioned would make life easier but with the limited space I would just use an normal allen key and take my time, half a turn or less is still a turn :/ Im not sure if I would reduce the length of the screw as @Noyade has suggested as it may need to be long to be able to get it started? You will find out as you undo the screw. His idea does make sense, just depends on how fiddly it may be.

I just thought I'd add that if you are experiencing difficulties, it would be best to reach out to the manufacturer. I trust they'll be able to provide appropriate guidance on removing the door seal retaining clamp.
