How to get rid of stagnant water in stormwater pit?

What is the best way to get rid of stagnant water in stormwater pit like this besides manually scooping out the water? Due to installation errors they have installed the outflow pipe so much higher than the inflow pipe but thankfully it doesn't flood and the outflow pipe is functional.

I know your feeling, I have the same type of issue with my pits (either I missed something obvious or I really dont know.

I just let mine be, not the best but the water tends to dry up fast. I was thinking of a concrete mix up until the levelk of your pipe would work but @EricL 's suggestion of mortar would work as well. Anything loose like sand/pebbles could result in it going down the pipe :/ Or a paving stone may work well :) I like that idea the most as it can be removed easly enough.

Please note that plumbing work needs to be completed by a licensed professional for safety and compliance.

Due to the permanent nature of its installation, there is not much that can be done to adjust the pit. Moving the pit would mean breaking the concrete adjusting the pipe level and installing a new pit which is quite involved. A quick way to remove the stagnant water in the pit is to use a handheld pump such as the

Another option is to fill the bottom of the pit with some mortar up to the level of the pipe. In this manner any standing water will flow into the pipe and will not be able to stay in the pit.
