I have a bed that has got bed box. One of the sides of the bed that attaches to the bed head is now broken as shown in the images.
The screws in the bed frame on which the long side of bed attaches and gets support are broken and the wood is out.
@ragimittal - attach a new L brackets. https://www.bunnings.com.au/search/products?page=1&q=L+brackets&sort=BoostOrder
The new holes should be away from current destroyed ones
Hi @ragimittal,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.
I was thinking much the same as @J-P, that you could replace the brackets with new ones that don't align with the existing holes, then drive some suitably sized screws through the bracket into the frame.
A nice solid bracket like this https://www.bunnings.com.au/dunnings-65-x-65-x-5-x-140mm-m12-structural-angle-bracket_p1070436 alongside a couple of https://www.bunnings.com.au/zenith-12g-x-50mm-galvanised-hex-head-timber-screws-10-pack_p2420367 with washers if necessary, would do the trick.
If you are looking for someone to carry out the work for you, a local handyperson can be found using a service such as Airtasker.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
I'm a little lost with this. Looks like bolts with locking nuts have pulled through Violet Crumble? Is it MDF? Any chance of better photos @ragimittal - of the fracture and maybe the intact joint on the left?
Afternoon doodling.
If you removed some stables and peeled back some of that black cloth - does it reveal a bracket something like this? I'm now thinking it's chipboard with those 'ribbed' threaded inserts that have been forcefully pulled out. If so, I was thinking of moving the bracket backwards to accommodate a stick of timber and then bolts though the bracket, new timber and the bed head with large washers on the other cloth side. If that makes sense.
