My front door is level but the floor has moved. I can't fix this at this time.
What sort of weather seal should I use inside.
Thanks
Hi @sue62,
Due to the irregular gap at the base of the door, and the fact it is inward swinging, the best option for you would be the Raven RP3 door seal, which comes in a variety of finishes including this https://www.bunnings.com.au/raven-rp3-door-bottom-bronze-920mm_p4065395 .
It is cam activated, meaning it will lift when the door opens, but will lower against the sill creating a seal when it is closed. This action happens when the seal hits a cam that is installed on the door frame which pushes the seal down against the sill.
Let me know if you have any further questions, or require further assistance.
Jacob
Thanks Jacob. I also have a door seal
outside same door but the tiny plastic roller has broken off. Can I just bend the nail down so it catches. It's really annoying and I don't understand why they wouldn't have used a metal one since there small and always in use. But that's the product makers for you such a simple thing . Lol.
Thanks Sue
You couldn't bend the screw because it will snap; you'd have to remove and reposition it for there to be any chance of the door seal working.
In saying this, it looks like the existing seal is damaged as well, so I'd say removing and replacing it is your best option.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks Jacob for your help the one outside is covered in tape and is new. Just the plastic roller has broken. I will look at moving it.
Do you cut door seals down ? I can measure it accurately but I don't think I could cut it due to a shoulder injury.
Hi Sue.
Solid chair leg protector (Bunnings?) - might work.
Or too big?
Thanks I will have a look at that . Good idea to see if something else might work.
While we do not cut door seals as a service, it is not particularly hard to do with a hacksaw.
If you're struggling, I am sure one of the team at your local store, possibly in the timberyard or tool shop, could help out if you asked.
