This is 16A, 250V plug (Air fryer brought from India) How we can convert this to Australian sockets? 1300W as per Air fryer spec
Hi @alenalexander123,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.
Unfortunately, it’s not really safe to try and convert that for use here.
Even though the voltage is similar, that 16A plug isn’t compatible with standard 10A or 15A Australian sockets, and using adapters or modifying the plug can be risky. The issue isn’t just the plug shape; it’s also about how the appliance is designed and rated to connect to the electrical system.
For something like an air fryer, which draws a fair bit of power, it’s not worth taking chances. The safest option is to return it and get one designed for Australian standards with the correct plug and approvals. Any of the air fryers on our website will be suitable. You can check them out here - https://www.bunnings.com.au/products/kitchen/appliances/ovens/microwave-air-fryers/air-fryer
Let me know if you have further questions.

It is only 1300W.
Regardless of the wattage, it is not designed for Australian infrastructure, and it is unsafe to use it with an adaptor. An adaptor adds a weakness to the circuit, which can cause failure, overheating and in the worst case, fire.
There are no circumstances where it is worth taking unnecessary risks when it comes to electricity.
"It is only 1300W."
Which doesn't make sense to me - why the "16A" plug? The current with 1300 watts would be only 5.4 amps by my calculation. An electrician neighbour told me once to "ring my doorbell" would be a $150 call out fee. You could get an electrician to change the plug over to an Australian standard plug - but at what cost? You can get a larger capacity and inexpensive air-fryer from K-Mart. How much was your Indian purchase?
