Are any nails or staples included with this Ozito staple gun? Or do I need to buy them separately?

The Ozito PXC 18V Cordless 2 In 1 Cordless Nail And Staple Gun PXNGS-018 - Skin Only does come with a starter pack of fasteners included, so you can get started straight away.

In the box you'll find:

250 x 18 Gauge 32mm C1 Series Brad Nails
300 x 18 Gauge 16mm Narrow Crown Staples

Depending on the size of your project, you may wish to pick up additional nails or staples, but there are enough included to test the tool and tackle smaller jobs.

great thank you Mitchell! That’s good to know as I could not see that info on the website.

I’m going to attach some fence pailings (12mm thick) to treated pine decking (22mm thick) using the nail gun. I think that the 32mm nails might be a bit too long? I am worried that that it will go through the other side of the pine decking by a few mils if the nail sits below the surface on the pailing. Any thoughts?

The fence paling (12mm) and the pine decking (22mm) will give you a total thickness of (34mm). The https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-2-in-1-cordless-nail-and-staple-gun-pxngs-018-skin-only_p0136008 has a force adjustment dial that gives you precise nail/staple depth control to suit a wide variety of materials such as MDF, pine or hardwood. Generally speaking, you have a 2mm adjustment depth. But if your worried about over driving the nail, I suggest looking at the https://www.bunnings.com.au/powerfit-25mm-c1-series-electro-galvanised-brad-nails-2000-pack_p0728539 . Please keep in mind that you might need to use more nails as it will not drive as deep as the 32mm nail.

I have used a nailgun before (was my carpenters mates one) and they do pack a wallop. Going through the two timbers I would suggest to test first. if they are old timber palings or old decking the timber may split is what comes to mind. I havnt used an ozito nailgun but have used other ozito tools and they all seem to have the strength to do the job nicely, just maybe not the fine tune or softness you would get with a mainstream tool.

If this is an exterior application, I'd be a little cautious about using brad nails as the primary fixing method. While they can certainly hold the palings in place, the brads have only a very thin corrosion-resistant coating and can rust over time when exposed to the elements.

For anything intended as a long-term outdoor installation, screws are generally a much more effective and durable fixing method. They offer significantly greater holding power and are less likely to loosen as the timber expands and contracts with changes in temperature and moisture.

If the palings are in a sheltered location, the brads should be fine, but for exposed outdoor use, I'd lean towards screws for the best long-term result.

I would definitely use the Powerfit 25mm Galvanised brads @EricL has suggested. The length allows for the brads to countersink in to the soft wood palings and the galvanise coating will ensure they don't rust away. They are a good brand of brad I use all the time

thanks all! This is very helpful. I think I’ll get the Powerfit 25mm nails for this project. I only need the pieces to be tacked into place for a short while so the nails should have enough holding power
