What is this type of fastener called?

Looking for the correct name. There have been numerous threads on the type, mainly on how to remove them cleanly - basically a plastic insert with a threaded (is it threaded?) 'nail' hammered home leaving a slotted head and plastic collar. One suggestion was to unscrew the nail.

Amazingly I was in the same situation this morning. Un-screwing failed - it just rotates in the plastic sleeve without retracting.

Pincers were the solution for me.😁 Just thought I'd share. Cheers!

They are nail-in nylon anchors like these https://www.bunnings.com.au/macsim-5-x-25mm-round-nylon-nail-in-plugs-150-pack_p0057445 , or these https://www.bunnings.com.au/ramset-6-5-x-50mm-mushroom-head-nylon-anchor-20-pack_p2260197 . They are lightly threaded so they can be removed, however in practice, I have found they often won't pull out by just rotating the slotted head and often end up using a combination of a screwdriver and some pliers. They are great if you are looking for light duty anchoring with the option to remove with a little bit of effort.

If you wanted something a bit more permanent, these https://www.bunnings.com.au/ramset-6-x-30mm-shuredrive-pack-20-pack_p2260175 are the way to go. I used them extensively when I was building steel framed partition walls to attach the bottom tracks to concrete slabs. They give a really strong hold very quickly, but you want to make sure they're in the right place the first time, because there's no easy removal. They need either an angle grinder, or a very damaged chisel and a medium-to-heavy belting with a hammer to remove the head so you can remove whatever you've fixed in place. Great to work with, but you want to make sure you're accurate before driving them in.
