How to protect hot water tank from the weather?

hi all, I had a new hot water tank installed approximately 3.5 years ago after the old one popped its top. The tank has now popped its bottom and seems to be rusting. It has been installed outside and unfortunately there is no protection from the elements for it. I was looking at making an enclosure of some sort for it. Any suggestions?

As the corrosion seems to be coming from the pipe connection, I think there's a chance it has a small leak or an issue with the connection.

If you could get the plumber who installed it to come inspect it, that would be ideal, but if you can't, you should still have a plumber come to inspect it as it looks like there are some issues that may need addressing. If there turns out to be any issues that would be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, then they should be able to advise.

In terms of adding protection for the hot water system, the stuff I mentioned above still applies. You'd need to confirm with the manufacturer what your requirements are for clearance, ventilation and access before planning anything.

So, at this stage, I think you should prioritise having a plumber inspect and rectify any issues, as well as advise whether anything may be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. If so, then you would need to get in touch with the manufacturer for assistance. I'd also suggest you speak with them about clearance requirements before you go too deep into the planning.
