Hi Bunnings.
Looking for a good tape for cornice and skirting. It will probably need to stay in place for around four days (does time matter?). Just using acrylic wall paint.
Lots of metres.
Cheers.
Graeme.
Hi @Noyade,
Four days shouldn't be an issue at all as long as you're using a decent painter's tape rather than standard masking tape.
I'd be inclined to use ScotchBlue Original Multi-Surface Painter's Masking Tape. It's suitable for smooth or lightly textured painted walls and trim and is designed to remove cleanly for up to 14 days, so leaving it in place for four days is comfortably within that timeframe.
If either the cornice or skirting has been freshly painted, I'd step down to a lower-adhesion tape such as Scotch Delicate Surface Painter's Masking Tape, which is designed to be gentler on recently painted and more delicate surfaces.
Whichever you use, I'd make sure the surfaces are clean and dry before applying it, press the edge down firmly where you need your paint line, and remove it carefully once you've finished painting.
Check out How to use painter's tape for some guidance on the application.
