hi,
looking to install some outdoor blinds to shelter my house from some of the western sun but I’m pretty lost as to how to install any of the Coolaroo blinds over these windows.
Any ideas?
Hello @demelzabl
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about installing a Coolaroo outdoor blind.
I suggest having a quick look at these discussions - How to install an outdoor blind on roof fascia? by @kritin and How to install outdoor blinds for a bay window? by @gn. In your particular situation, I propose installing a https://www.bunnings.com.au/90-x-45mm-outdoor-framing-h3-treated-pine-2-4m_p8032172 on the outside surface of your brick wall. It will essentially be crossing the distance between your window and serve as an anchor point for the blind. It can be anchored using AnkaScrews or Ramset Chemset kit on each side of the wall. I suggest a minimum of two anchors for each side.
The timber piece can be painted in the same colour as your window frame or a nice red brick colour to blend in with your wall. The reason I suggested this method is so that there will be no stress applied to the roofs fascia or the internal structure supporting the window.
I've placed a rendered sample image below using AI to give you an idea of where the timber piece can be attached.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1, @Nailbag, @TedBear, @JoeAzza and @DIY4Knuckleheds for their recommendations.

Good Afternoon @demelzabl
@EricL has suggested something that is needed for sure. You need something to attach your blind to that spans cross the window. I really cant come up with other supports for the blind. It has to be able to withstand wind gusts and movement plus pulling on the blind itself.
