I have this type of flush dual valve and what other dual flush valve can I use in caroma toilets? I can’t find this type in the store.Any other solutions would be great . Thanks

Hi @Pwsingh , maybe not what you were wanting to hear but, I think you would get better satisfaction out of replacing the whole cistern rather than trying to modify it. You can get a new one for ~$150, whereas trying to source a replacement part, for perhaps 1/2 that, if you even found one, doesn't seem a wise investment in time or money.
I am assuming that the flushing unit you have is beyond repair?
I can't imagine another company making something that will go into their opposition's cistern.
(Maybe someone here knows if there is another Coroma unit that will fit, but as much as I love DIY repairs, it still seems like it could be a bad investment compared to just replacing it, whereby you get all the future-leaky parts replaced. )
As @TedBear has mentioned, you can purchase plastic cisterns such as the Estilo WELS 3 Star 3.9L/min White Linksuite PVC Cistern quite cheaply. At $74, including all new parts, that certainly sounds like a great solution to your issue. If you knew the Caroma cistern model, I could contact Caroma for you to see if the flush mechanism is still produced.

I have the same type of Fowler Flush Fitted to the old Caroma Cistern with Oval Button. One of mine is fitted with & You could easily Fit Caroma New Quiet Flow M5 Flush as well as Caroma Quiet Flow 2 inlet valve.
Perhaps you might find these online and might as well need plumber to install.

It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing a flush valve.The unit you have should pull directly upwards out of the tracks that locate the unit at the back and the front of the cistern. Just check the areas, especially on the front, to see if you need to depress any tabs releasing the unit before lifting it up.Please let me know if you have any questions.Mitchell
Thanks Mitchell, that’s the feeling I got but I was too scared to just start pulling at it! There’s some tabs at the front I think I can separate before I do it.
I think you're on the right track. I suspect these two tabs need to be flexed slightly outward to allow the unit to slide out @georgina44.
Looks like the front tabs weren’t enough to loosen it.
I’m sure there’s something here holding it in but nothing I can move. And because it’s all plastic if feels a bit too wobbly to pull to hard. Do you think it will be too risky to peel the seal off while it’s still attached and try to put a fresh one on at that angle?

You won't be able to reach the Seating Washer underneath unless the entire assembly is taken out. If you've managed to remove the front clips, hold the plastic flushing body and slowly but firmly lift it upwards in a left to right motion. Do not twist the body, your primary motion is to lift it upwards. The flushing assembly is held in firmly by the shape of the sliding tabs. Once you get them started it will eventually slide out.
I suggest using the Kinetic Seating Washers - 2 Pack (the red one) in my experience this is the most compatible sealer for the flushing valve. My best advice is to make sure that the seating washer is totally centred and lying flat on the flushing arm.

They are the exact washers that I’ve bought, thank you. Unfortunately still no luck with removal. The back of the cistern which is only attached to the wall at the sides wobbles and bends a lot doing this. Maybe I need a third hand to stabilise the unit 😢
You possibly do @georgina44. My expectation is that the sliding tabs will be quite tight and some amount of force will be needed to pull the mechanism up them. It's a bit daunting as the amount of force you might need to apply would possibly come close to breaking the plastic. You could spritz a bit of WD40 in the sliders at the back and let it seep in. That might loosen them.

I have the same toilet and having trouble with the buttons flushing. Is it easy to replace the cistern or at least the flushing system? Can you please give me the details of the part you purchased and from what store?
Also, the bracket that connects the lid to the seat has broken so I replace them but the seat is attached to the bowl and I can't remove it as the brackets seems to be stuck or seized (I'm using a tiny Allen key but the bracket is not budging). Do you have any suggestions?

I would suggest engaging the services of a plumber. I don't recommend it as a first time D.I.Y. activity as incorrect installation can result in leaks or accidental flooding.
Since you've mentioned that you have a similar toilet, a compatible cistern would be the Caroma White Uniset Il Cistern WELS 3 Star 6L/Full. But while it is possible to replace the cistern, I would also encourage you to look at replacing the entire toilet as the price of the cistern is almost equivalent to the price of a new toilet suite such as the Mondella Rococo Rimless Back To Wall Toilet Suite WELS 4 Star 4.6L/Full.
Should you decide to change your toilet suite, I recommend looking at the stores Toilet Installation Service. This will save you time if you are looking for a professional to install your toilet suite.
In regards to the bracket of your toilet seat, can you please post a photo of the bracket? This will give our members a better idea of what's happening to its installation.

Thanks Eric. Pic of the bracket that holds toilet seat to bowl. Let me know if you need more pics. I've used an Allen and WD40 to try to loosen the bracket but it won't budge. Are these seat replaceable?
Also, re the cistern- is there a part for just the flushing/buttons without needing to replace the whole cistern?

Is the grub screw just not budging? Or is it the bracket itself that won't lift off?
It looks like the grub screw is already loose, so it should just be a case of lifting the bracket off the base plate. If you pull upwards, can you see any separation along this seam here?
You could try using a lever such as a flathead screwdriver to pry the two pieces apart. Just be careful not to damage the toilet pan. Putting some towels or soft cloths around the location you are using the screwdriver would be a good idea.
You can replace both the seat and the brackets if they get damaged in the removal process. You would just need a new toilet seat fixing kit and a toilet seat in the correct shape and size. Check out this guide on Replacing your toilet seat for information on what to look for.
You can also replace the flushing valve with a new one. Assuming you have the same toilet as above, where the buttons are at the front, you could use this FIX-A-LOO Thunderflush Dual Flush Cistern Outlet Valve. Have a look at How to replace a Caroma dual flush square outlet valve for some discussion on the process. If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to ask so we can assist further.

Thanks Jacob. I've now really loosened the brackets so much that I can twist them but they are really stubborn and won't lift off so I will have to persevere. I think they may have a clasp or something inside the bowl that's catching.
Also, the cistern & buttons are in the pics. The buttons don't connect properly with the purple valves so I can't flush unless I leave top off and push the valves manually so I'm happy to replace flushing system and buttons to fix this annoyance properly.

Can you please post a photo of your cistern cover? I've placed a sample image of what the cover is suppose to look like along with the button configuration. The older sets have sharper corners; I've not seen this set with a round button before. Once you post the photo of the cover, I can verify for you if it is the correct one.
