How to repaint external timber doors?
Our external timber doors get hit by the sun and desperately need repainting as the paint is fading. I thought I would paint them white this time. It's the first time they have been repainted - we had a professional painter in after they were first installed. Can you please recommend the best paint to use? And do you think…

Anyone got backyard chickens?
I'm thinking about getting backyard chickens. It would be great to get fresh eggs every day. But I'm not really sure where to start. Does anyone here have chickens and some advice? I like the chicken coop below but is it OK to leave the chickens in it all the time or do they need more space to walk around? I would be…

What to do about constantly dripping toilet?
I have a Caroma toilet in good condition that is constantly dripping water into the bowl. Our last water bill was higher than usual so we need to do something about it. I can’t see any obvious problem and don’t know what model the toilet is. It’s a Caroma, about 15 years old, and is 840mm tall, 650mm long from the wall and…

It doesn't seem to be doing too well so not sure if I should water it more, or water it less. The leaves are very dry/damaged at the ends as you can see in the photos....Help gratefully…

Can you go it alone with a fence?
We want to replace our side fence with something higher and more attractive. But we have a rental property next door that’s not in great shape so we imagine the landlord isn’t going to want to invest in a new fence, or will want the cheapest option. If we are willing to just wear the full cost of replacing the fence, is it…

Do electric rodent repellers work?
Anyone tried those sonic mouse and rat repellers that you plug-in? We've heard some scratching around above our ceiling inside our roof and I think its a rat or mouse rather than a possum - they are much louder!! I like the sound of not having to use baits or traps, but it sounds too good to be true… Anyone had any…

Recommend a Fry Pan that stays non-stick?
Can anyone recommend a good non-stick fry pan that actually lasts? We’ve bought a few expensive ones over the years and are always careful with only using soft plastic utensils and gently washing (no scouring) but they never seem to last much beyond a year. It seems the coating just doesn’t last and you might as well buy a…
