Moving Rosemary
Our Rosemary bush has been great but we have plans for the garden bed its currently in so it has to go. I assume we can't just transplant it? I'm happy to just take some cuttings and start them in pots. Has anyone got any tips? And do you think we can do it now? We can't really wait until Spring....

Studio, bungalow, granny flat or something else?
For all those that have a seperate dwelling in the backyard, what do you call it? Studio, bungalow, granny flat, games room, pool room, pool house, cabana, man cave, she shed, cabin, back flat, cottage, guest house or something else?

Backyard shed to studio transformation
An old backyard shed with broken windows and a leaking roof was transformed into a funky studio perfect for working from home. The project I was organising my photos over the weekend and stumbled across our shots for a project at our old inner city house. When we bought it, there was a grungy old brick shed in the small…

Best way to control weeds in the garden
Keen to hear Adam's thoughts on the best way to control weeds in the garden. Is pulling them out by hand more or less effective than using a weed killer in terms of stopping them from growing back...?

From old shed to funky studio
I was organising my photos over the weekend and stumbed across our shots for a project at our old inner city house. When we bought it, there was a grungy old brick shed in the small paved backyard that had an outdoor loo and climber all over it. It was dark and dingy with broken windows and a broken door. It was even…

Do you use your roof space?
One of the best thing we did in our first home, which was a really small Victorian cottage, was to install a roof space ladder in the hallway so we could use the attic as storage. I'm interested in the idea of "going up" in our current house without doing an extensive renovation. This is a fantastic example... Do you…

The Block 2017
Anyone interested in the new series of The Block? It starts Sunday. For those that have missed the publicity, this time they are renovating period homes, which should be easier for most people to relate to than high rise apartments. The couples have apparently been encouraged to keep the heritage facades and period details…

Rate your lawn
My lawn is green but it's a real bitser, with many different types of grasses, plus some clover and a bit of bindi. I would rate it 5/10. What score would you give your lawn?

Do you brush your teeth in the shower?
I was having an (admittedly strange) conversation with a work colleague the other day and he said he brushed his teeth in the shower. I thought it very strange behaviour but he seemed surprised that everyone doesn't do it. Workshop users - do you brush your teeth in the shower?

Worst DIY jobs you've had to do
I'm curious to hear some of the worst DIY jobs Workshop members have had to do. Is there anything really tedious or difficult you've tackled in the past that you never, ever want to do again? Perhaps something that now (gasp) you might even consider paying someone to do next time?

Do you ever dim the lights?
One of the selling points of new LED lights is that they are dimmable. I'm not convinced it is a selling point though. Does anyone ever actually dim the lights? I would have thought they're either on or off. There's plenty of options already for mood lighting, like only having faraway lights on, or a lamp... Do you ever…

Tips for a blocked drain
We've had a blocked drain in the bathroom basin for a while. Various methods like regular sessions with a plunger have had a little success but it soon becomes bothersome again. Keen to hear what your tips are for a blocked drain.

Outdoor shower tapwear
Hi everyone. We're thinking about installing an outdoor shower to complement the swimming pool and would love some recommendations on tapwear that will be able to cope with the elements. We're not near the sea so it's not a super-harsh environment like a beach house but we assume that we can't use an indoor shower head and…
