Should water drain out when I water this potted palm?

Hi Hello I purchased 2 tiny monsteras from Bunnings 1 year ago, and happy to see them grow. However, they seem to grow upwards. I am not much of a gardener so i am unsure if I should cut some of the branches and replant them in the water in the same pot. I am after an advise about this. Thank you. 🙂

is this plant doomed?
The leafs were burned as i accidentally left the plant outside too long. I cut the burn leaves but brown leafs started to grow nonetheless. What can i do to revive this plant? Thanks
