Have two of these toilets and the hinges I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get off.. have tried googling and have found heaps of people with the same problem but no solution on how to get them off! Please help me!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @toiletseatstuck. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about removing a toilet seat.
It's difficult to tell exactly how your seat is removed, as most manufacturers put their own spin on the fixings, and there are no universal removal methods. I note on the front of the chrome sections that there appear to be a couple of countersunk holes. Are there grub screws in these holes, or have you removed screws from them? There are typically fixing screws that hold the chrome sections to the lower portion of the hinge mechanism, which is locked into the pan. If the fixings have already been removed, you might find the chrome sections pull straight up and off, or they might slide forward, releasing them from the lower portion.
Typically, these fittings get quite stuck over time, so it can take a bit of wriggling back-and-forth to get them moving.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
