Recessed toilet roll holder

Recessed toilet roll holder

After a recent renovation we created a recessed toilet roll holder as we have a tiny toilet. The lack of space has been issue for awhile. We also added a top shelf which is handy to hold a mobile phone.

Materials

  • Pine timber (70mm x 20mm)
  • 3mm MDF Sheet (backing)
  • Screws
  • Wood glue
  • White paint (wall)
  • Acrylic paint for marble effect (grey and blue)
  • Spray Gloss Varnish
  • Molding for frame (40mm)
  • Wood putty (fill holes)
  • Toilet Roll holder (black)

Tools

  • Drill
  • Drop Saw
  • Jigsaw
  • Multi-tool
  • Sandpaper

Steps

Step 1

Cut hole into wall to find placement of studs. This will determine the size of the recess you can make (distance between studs). We have an older home so the distance (width) can be a bit variable

Step 2

Make the frame to the determined size of the recess. Add the backing sheet. Fill holes with putty and sand.

Re: Recessed Toilet Roll Holder

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @johnduffield. It's great to have you join us, and many thanks for sharing your terrific project.

What a unique and appealing design! I love it! It's not something you see every day, but I really dig how it turned out; it adds a certain opulence to the space.

Well done!
