Secret powder room with barn door

We’ve added a pretty powder room at the end of our Laundry Room. It is easily accessible from pool area so we don’t have to enter the main house and wet the wooden floors just to go to the toilet. We are so happy with the overall look and my boys call it the secret toilet as its hidden behind a big and heavy barn door.

Steps

Step 1

We started by stripping down this unused and unfunctional area of the house. We used a lot of treated pine and mdf boards from Bunnings.

Clever husband! Full DIY of this space.

EasyCraft VJ 100 for Wet interior done, he cut a board in half as i wanted only half the wall cladded. The cabinetry came flat pack so we built them outside first.

Step 4

We opted for no tiles as splashback! Ekodeck castellated cladding was perfect! I love the contrasting look of it and the smooth shiny mirror.

Everyone is surprised with the powder room behind this tall and heavy sliding barn door made by husband using MDF boards, Easycraft vj 100 etc.

Another exceptionally well finished room that, in conjunction with your Shed conversion to laundry and mudroom, will hopefully keep the rest of the house tidy and dirt-free.

I love the castellated battens, the cladding on your vanity and the VJ panels. The vertical lines give the room great texture and make what could be a dull space rather interesting to look at.
