hi! I want to replace our hand showerhead with a rain shower - how do I get this off the wall? There is absolutely no give in it and I have removed all the plumbers tape on there (first pic was taken before I removed it all).. I've tried multi grip tools but it won't wiggle even a mm. Help !
Hello @lardun
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your shower head.
I propose trying a rocking technique on the sleeve of the shower connector. Place the multigrip back onto the inner collar and hold the tool tightly. Slowly introduce a forward/backwards motion on the collar until it comes loose. Keep in mind that the collar must rotate anti-clockwise to come off.
Once the collar and head come off, I suggest spraying the threaded wall outlet with WD40 and brushing the threads with an old toothbrush to clean it up. When the threads are clean you can then install the new shower head onto the wall outlet.
Let me call on our experienced members @Noyade, @Dave-1 and @AlanM52 for their recommendations.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi @lardun,
Looks like it's frozen and needs to be 'cracked' open or in the case loosened.
I have has success with a Self-adjusting Plumbers Wrench and tapping the end of the handle.
I also keep a butane torch and a can of freeze spray in my travel kit.
Heat one side and freeze the other.
Cheers
Good Morning @lardun
@EricL and @AlanM52 have suggested the ways I would be trying
I can only suggest patience and take your time when its not budging. Putting too much pressure on the twist action is where I get concerned as you dont know what is happening to the securing side/pipe itself. Id try a bit more but if its siezed then I would suggest a plumber 😕 We do the job once every so often, they do the job all the time. I gemerally think of it as a leaning class and watch so if I come across it again then I have a little more confidence/knowledge to have a go.
Dave
Sorry, I'm not sure what I'm looking at.
Is that an extremely 'large' allen/grub screw seen in the second photo?
Does that all come apart - so you can get a better grip @lardun ?
