A custom feature wall built for the bedroom using VJ panels, with LED lights and wireless chargers also installed.
Created a feature wall in the bedroom built from VJ panels. It has a shelf with built in LED lights and wireless chargers. We have used two VJ boards from Bunnings. They only have 1200 x 2400mm, but we needed them them to be 1500mm high, so we used the Bunnings cutting service to cut them to 1500mm in store. This made it possible to deliver them in our car without using a trailer.
Locate the studs in the wall using a stud finder. Attach two packers along the studs to offset the VJ board from the wall by 6mm. This should bring the feature wall forward and would look nicer along the architraves. By bringing it forward we could also get rid of the bottom skirting board and make the feature wall act as the skirting for the carpet.
Cut the Pine timber boards to size. Using the router cut the groove in one of the boards closer to the edge for the aluminium channel. Still using the router dress the edges using the timber bit of your liking. Also cut 60mm holes in the board for the wireless chargers.
Mark the position of the attach angle to the top board of the shelf. Using the Plywood off-cuts, space them between the two boards making sure that all the wiring and the angle brackets are between the two boards. Make small grooves for the wiring if required.
Using the multi-tool cut the holes for the power points and the wall lamps. This way you save money on the electrician. If he has to do it then you will most likely pay double for the job. Attach the VJ boards to the wall.
Get a licensed electrician to connect the power points and wall lights.
Paint the wall and the shelf. Enjoy!

Good Afternoon @chaau
Lighting works and you have used it well. I like the way you have hidden it from straight sighting. Just went back and had a look through to see what the round thing was, Ihad presumed it was a light but no! Its a wirless charging point
Just adds to the functionality!
Good work.
