6. Create visual rhythm with mouldings
Moulding can take a wall from plain to polished. @kellyyang used dark green paint with MDF moulding for a moody bedroom feature wall, while @amitisyours opted for navy and Pine to create a bold yet inviting entryway feature wall.
7. Install floor-to-ceiling shelving
Nothing says character like a wall full of books or curated objects. @Cardaw built an entire wall-length D.I.Y. built-in bookcase, creating storage and a feature in one. @DannoAbbott followed a similar path when designing a home library with floor-to-ceiling bookcases that make the most of vertical space.

8. Design a themed display shelf
Not every feature wall needs to be filled - sometimes a focused display is just as impactful. @JoeAzza showcased his music collection using custom-built music CD display racks racks that double as décor. @Renowayoflife got playful with a truck-shaped toy car wall display unit.

9. Build a family photo tree
Few wall features are as meaningful as one that tells your family story. @Leetes1963 created a deeply personal family tree photo wall using timber, wire and sepia-toned photographs.

10. Create an artistic collage
You don’t need expensive materials to create a collage with real impact. @sidrah exhibited great creativity and imagination with a whimsical book-themed feature wall with a vibrant blue backdrop, scattered books and a clock.

11. Add a handmade wall hanging
Wall hangings are a low-fuss, high-impact way to bring texture to a room, and a great non-permanent option for renters. @sandy_d used string and painted dowels to create an eye-catching easy D.I.Y. wall hanging, while @Renowayoflife crafted a hanging flower wall decoration that softens the space.

12. Highlight brickwork with paint
Sometimes the best way to improve a wall is to work with what’s already there. @EdithHobbs modernised red brick by painting it with a spray gun and roller in her brickwork paint in bedroom makeover that brightened the room.
