These custom racks are the perfect size to put CDs on display and you can create more as you grow your collection.
The project
I originally made these CD shelves but decided to make a different style. My grandson likes to collect CDs so these CDs are for display rather than storing them away where they can't be seen.
Materials
Materials used for this project:
- 42mm x 12mm and 42mm x 19mm Tasmanian Oak
- Polyurethane glue
- Two coats of satin clear coat varnish.
How to hang just about anything
The secret to successfully hanging anything on a wall is knowing what’s beneath your paint, tiles or wallpaper. How your wall is constructed affects how you drill into the wall, what wall fasteners you should choose, and how much weight they can hold.
Experienced Workshop member Adam Woodhams covers the various fastening systems and the drill bits you’ll need in the guide How to hang just about anything.
More project inspiration
Joe also created these timber shelves that can display CDs, art or picture frames.

Good Evening @JoeAzza
Its amazing what you find when following along paths I just came across your project! Absolutly outside the square thinking (Oh I see that pun lol) Now this is a brilliant way to display those cherished CD's or whatever really. Filing this project away for future use for sure.
