A kitchen makeover using paint on wooden cabinet doors.

The project

I live in a rental property and always hated the dated timber cabinets. I'd been here for a few years so I decided to ask my landlord if I could paint the cabinets and he was onboard. I used Dulux Renovations cabinet paint from Bunnings and it turned out so well. It's held up so well over the last three years.

The Ozito corded paint sprayer gave me a professional finish and was so cheap.

I also made a video of my cabinet painting experience that includes all the mistakes not to make, which primer to use and how to apply for a professional looking finish. Feel free to check it out if you need some tips.

Hi Nicole. Very inspired by your project as my cupboards look just like yours! One question...did you spray paint or hand paint the primer? I know you demonstrated with the hand painting but wondered if you switched over. I also wondered if you did the benchtop as well or was that existing? Thanks.

Hello @DIYHaveaCrack

Let me tag @nicoleherrick to make them aware of your kind words and questions. I totally agree the kitchen was very nicely revamped. If you wanted to make sure that there were no hints of a brush stroke on the surface of the door then spray painting it would be the way to go. But let's wait for nicoleherrick to confirm.
