A kitchen island using Kaboodle cabinetry was decorated with scallop MDF paneling.
The project
I bought a lovely house but it was in serious need of updating. Newly single woman, I was nervous to go it alone but I was inspired after shopping at Bunnings and a year later I can’t believe what I have achieved. This is just one project I was able to achieve with very little skill but a big imagination!

Steps
Step 1
After putting together my Kaboodle kitchen, I needed something special for the old island bench I decided to keep. I found some panelling at Bunnings.

Step 2
I purchased a reciprocating saw and used my kitchen table as my work bench to cut panel to size.

Step 3
I then used a construction glue (heavy duty Liquid Nails or silicone works) to adhere panel to the old laminate island panels, and secured it with clamps, applied pressure and left to dry.

Step 4
I found some options at Bunnings to finish off the corners where the panels join.

Step 5
Next painting! I am about to go into Bunnings and find the best paint to finish off the job. I love the look.
