The project

We attempted our first D.I.Y. project with this feature wall. We purchased three wall panels 1m in height, but in hindsight we should have used the 2.8m panels and cut them in half for a bit of extra height. We also purchased extra strength glue, screws and wood putty.

We felt confident tackling the project after speaking to Bunnings team members. We were told to use extra strength glue first, and we locked in panel by panel as we went, nailing them to the wall. We waited five minutes between panels, holding them in place so the glue had time to stick. For the Tasmanian Oak trim, we cut it to size and glued it to the wall without nails, holding it in place for 10-15 minutes.

We painted with Dulux Paris Green Matte and finished it off with a Tasmanian Oak trim. All in all we are happy with the result and our daughter loves her new room.
