How to loosen the hex bolt on Ryobi circular saw?

I just got given the Ryobi RCS1500-G Circular saw and I can't, for the life of me, get the hexbolt off to attach the blade.

The instructions have no specificity on this, just to undo the hexbolt counter clockwise, but it doesn't get any purchase and just spins on the "axle"

I assumed there may be a way to lock it but can't find anything.

Thanks.

HI @zachary1909

The spindle lock is near the front handle. No.11

Rotate the blade slowly whilst pushing down on the spindle lock - it should engage the internal notch.

Let us know how you go.

Cheers.

Hello @zachary1909

That is spot on advice from @Noyade regarding the spindle lock. Please give it a try and see if you can get the hex bolt removed.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
