Hello @JojoMig

Thanks for sharing your question about painting your garage floor. In order to successfully paint your floor the old mustard coloured paint must be stripped off first. This will provide a clean base for the new paint to anchor onto. I suggest using a grinder with a Josco 100mm Twistknot Cup Brush or similar to strip the paint. For tight corners, I suggest using 80grit sandpaper.

Once the floor is clean and all the paint has been stripped off you can now begin preparing your garage floor for painting. Depending on the product that you purchase, the floor is usually washed with a cleaning and etching compound. It is then washed off and left to dry. The paint cans and rollers are then prepared for painting. My best advice is to check the weather to make sure you have a few days of successive sunshine.

Hi @JojoMig

To add further to @EricL excellent advice:

It's ALL in the Preparation. This must be done correctly or the paint just won't last.

I highly recommend using an epoxy product. It much harder wearing and longer lasting. I'm yet to do my garage but got this advice from @MitchellMc when researching.

And don't use cheap rollers to apply regardless of product. The fluff comes off them leaving a mess to clean up. Learnt that from watching a mate doing his. It wasn't good 😫
