How to hide a stormwater drain?

Hi, I have an unsightly storm water drain in lawn and wish to a/ build higher/level with yard & b/ cover with grass.

Not for thousands of litres of water trying to move to the lowest point @Noyade. Water "gradually filtered through" is not an adequate surface drainage solution. That's my main concern here.

 

I've contacted a local water authority, and they advise that any works, whether an aesthetical covering or otherwise, must be approved by the authority in that location.

I wish I could weld, I’d make it myself 🤣
The concrete pad just covers the extension of the drain

I know this is an old thread, but we have similar grates in our courtyard. I just built a wooden pot plant stand to sit over it just to cover it up a bit..20240326_105114.jpg

Lovely work @dean! What a great way to obscure the view and make the grate less imposing. I like how you raised it so it doesn't interfere with water entering the grate or cause debris to build up.
